Let's start where most reviews won't: Rank Math's free version is so good you may never need to pay. On-page analysis, schema, sitemaps, redirects, 404 monitoring, Search Console integration — Yoast charges around $99/year for much of that. Three million-plus installs later, the honest question isn't "is Rank Math worth it" but "do you actually need PRO yet?" You do, once you need serious rank tracking or you start touching client sites. Until then, install the free one and keep your money.

Is the free version good enough? +

For most people, for a long time — yes. On-page analysis, schema, sitemaps, redirects, 404s, Search Console: Yoast charges ~$99/year for much of that. If your site is new or traffic is modest, there's a real case for never upgrading. That changes when you need rank tracking at scale, or you start working on client sites.

What does PRO cost? +

Annual only, no lifetime deal. PRO ~$84 first year (unlimited personal sites). Business ~$252 (100 client sites, 10,000 keywords). Agency ~$600 (500 client sites). Promos run constantly, so you'll often pay less in year one.

Does the price rise at renewal? +

Yes, and it catches people out. PRO renews around $107.88/yr, Business ~$335.88, Agency ~$779.88. Take the sale price — but budget for the renewal, not the headline.

Is Content AI included? +

Only as a trial. You get free credits; after that it's a separate ongoing subscription. This matters because parts of Rank Math's content scoring lean on Content AI, so a perfect score is harder without it. If you publish at volume, treat it as a recurring cost — and review your cart at checkout so you only buy what you meant to.

Can I use PRO on client sites? +

No. PRO covers unlimited sites you own. Client work needs Business (100 sites) or Agency (500). This is the most common licensing mistake — freelancers buy PRO, then find it doesn't cover the work they actually do.
